Pretty laid-back, tropical feel to this weekend’s wedding. Gotta grab a snack, load up the equipment and head out. Hope the rain eases up a bit. It’s pouring with unabated fury at this moment…
From an early start (5am), from Kota Kemuning to Taman Maluri, Cheras, this was one fun packed wedding. How can we forget all the fear factor challenges, or the highway car chase on the Kesas highway to the wedding toasting and “yam sengs” mixed with Michael Jackson’s Beat it! While the best laid plans go awry, we’re glad that overall things went very well and we could even save the dinner march in as we had the Canon in D CD in our car!
Unbelievably, Tai Thong Flower Drum restaurant does not have a VGA cable that connects their projector to the AV room. Ten years ago this might be acceptable but not today where photos are on Facebook, Flickr, Smugmug and more. So what now? I suppose I’m going to have to invest in a five or six meter VGA cable…
More...Probably the most fun-filled, action-packed and totally enjoyable wedding of 2008. When I saw the groom’s party of 7, I knew it was going to be action packed. There was fun, there was willing and sometimes, coerced actions but I think everyone had a blast. I even have video to prove it. The bride’s maids were also into the action and they provided a ton of laughs. Dinner was equally enjoyable and I think I’ll need ear-plugs for the next wedding if their toasting and yam-sengs reach this kind of decibel volume!
Despite the heavy rain the that drenched Petaling Jaya, it was a genuinely warm and joyful inside SS2 Tai Thong Restaurant. It was also very dry! Choon Mei and Heng Loon don’t even look troubled as guests trickled in slowly and running late. They took the time to warmly greet and catch up with many friends and family that arrived. Today was just a simple dinner to celebrate their marriage and the big day is to happen a week later in Penang where Heng Loon is from. From the enthusiasm of the couple and the guests, it looks like one super big party! Yes, everyone had a great time and so did we!
